Rooted Remedies for Vomiting

**Not medical advice

It always starts when you least expect it.  One minute everything’s fine, the next your child’s tummy launches a full-blown revolt, expelling everything in its path like a surprise sneak attack.

Last night, my son, or I should say yesterday, started complaining that he wasn’t feeling well. He had a friend over, was busy playing and having fun, staying up later than normal, eating more sugar and treats than usual, and burning through every last ounce of energy. When the party was over, he crashed.

I thought a nap would do the trick. But he woke up with body aches and chills. I immediately started hydrating him and gave him Oscillococcinum for the flu-like symptoms and sudden discomfort. But not long after… the nightmare happened.

He puked all over my room.
My rug.
It was a full-on tummy strike.

Typically when vomiting hits hard and fast, I reach for Arsenicum Album. This remedy is amazing when paired with tummy issues that involve burning sensations, chills, and restlessness. It’s one of my top go-tos.

But in this case, there was no burning, just tummy pain, and I knew this was more about over indulgence. Too much sugar, too little rest, overexertion. So I reached for Nux Vomica, and it was all he needed to finally rest. He slept through the night and woke up feeling much better.

So when the tummy strike makes an uninvited visit to your house, be ready. Don’t panic. Just have these two key remedies on hand:

Arsenicum Album 30c or 200c
For vomiting with burning stomach pain, restlessness, and chills. Especially when the child is cold, anxious, and wants small sips of water. Great for food poisoning or stomach bugs that hit fast and hard.

Nux Vomica 30c or 200c
For vomiting tied to overindulgence.  Think too much food, sugar, or exhaustion. The child might feel irritable, cold, have tummy cramps or nausea, and just not want to be touched. Classic “I overdid it” picture.

Dosing: Give 1 dose of the selected remedy. Repeat up to 3x a day or every 2–3 hours for more intense symptoms. Pause if improvement is seen and let the remedy continue working. Resume only if symptoms return.

Being prepared with these rooted remedies means you can meet even the messiest tummy revolts with calm and confidence.

Homeopathy for the win.
